Story
UBTECH is the answer to a question Americans rarely ask: what would the humanoid industry look like if the publicly-traded leader was Chinese? UBTECH listed on the Hong Kong exchange in late 2023, which means Walker S has a financial paper trail that most of its Western competitors do not.
The product has been quietly piloting with most of the major Chinese automakers — Geely, Nio, and Foxconn have all been named in UBTECH press materials. Reading the filings, the pilots appear to be ongoing rather than one-off demos.
The Reality Score is held back by transparency. Western editors and analysts do not get the same access to Chinese factories that they do to Spartanburg or Berlin, and UBTECH does not currently publish an English-language spec sheet for Walker S on its product site. The pilots are real. The numbers behind them are harder to confirm from outside.
