The second World Humanoid Robot Games runs August 22–26, 2026 in Beijing. At the organizing committee's press conference on August 13, a senior official said the event has attracted 666 teams from 16 countries across six continents, with a record-breaking 2,056 robots set to compete — the team count up 138 percent over last year and the robot count doubled.

Domestically, 157 companies and 200 universities and research institutes will participate, forming 641 teams with 1,975 robots; Brazil is even fielding a national team. Newly added high-intensity competitive events include long jump, weightlifting, tug-of-war, and table tennis — the committee says each presents extreme challenges to the robotic brain, cerebellum, physical structure, and core components. Other categories cover industrial operations, hotel and family services, and logistics.

For HumanoidRoster this is an event record, not robot capability evidence: entry counts and category lists come from the organizing committee's own press conference, and no per-robot claims are made here until results are independently verifiable.
